For my script, I took inspiration from the Native American myth of the Bakwa spirit. The spirit originates from the Kwakiutl people of British Columbia and was believed to be drown victims that wear a mask after death, and lurk around finding interests in people. They may be shy, but once they find an intrigue in you, they try to lure you into their house in the woods using treats. It is said that they had a love for what was known as "ghost food" which included berries, fish, and other fruits of the land. The Bakwa will lure you with these treats that, if consumed, will also turn you into a Bakwa.
The final script for my short horror film GHOST FOOD can be found here.
