Each senior class at the UTK Graphic Design program hosts a senior show where we exhibit all of our best projects, including our thesis projects. As part of the senior show, the students organize the event, create the ephemera, advertise, all of it. Everyone was given a job and I was passed the baton for photographer. For our portrait session, I created a one light setup using a strobe with an octabox to soften the light and a scrib to bounce the light onto the opposing side of their face. We had a black velvet curtain as a backdrop to add to the more dramatic school portrait feel. I mainly shot on digital but for every senior I shot one film photograph as a treat for them, shot on Portra 400 pulled to 200.
